Quick Overview
- Stand-alone tackifier, use with or without mulch
- Improve strike rate
- Reduce watering frequency
- Reduce bare patches and hard-panning
- Reduce evaporation
- Improve water infiltration
- Reduce seed loss due to wind and rain
- Non-toxic, bio-degradable
Hydro-seeding is advanced method of quickly applying water, seed and fertiliser to a large area. It is especially useful in uneven and difficult to access areas.
In many cases results are improved through the addition of a tackifier. This helps hold seeds in place during the germination phase. Water$ave Hydro-Tac is a stand-alone tackifier that can be used without the addition of mulch.
As well as reducing seed loss during wind or rain event, Hydro-Tac also reduces evaporation, improves water infiltration and improves the physical properties of soils. Its anionic properties allow small colloidal particles to bind together, reducing loss of top-soil and hard-panning.
Hydro-Tac is an anionic, linear polymer in powdered form. It is soluble in water and can be used with a marking dye.
It is non-toxic and biodegrades over time, with no bio-accumulation in the soil.
Add seed and fertiliser to water first (and mulch if required)
Add 1.5kg of Hydro-Tac per 1000l of water
Add the polymer powder slowly to avoid clumping (gel-blocking)
Agitate the solution for 15-30 minutes to allow the polymer to go into solution and become active
Spray slurry onto area to be treated
Hyrdo-Seeding or Hydro-Mulching?
Hydro-seeding is a method to quickly apply water, seed & fertiliser to a large, often uneven area. Hydro-mulching is the application of water, seed & fertiliser in combination with a growth medium.
Can I Use Polymers?
Polymer Innovations supply a range of polymer product solutions for a variety of issues. We have been operating for over 20 years with experts available to discuss what product & solution will be best for your situation
Where In The World Is Polymer Innovations?
Polymer Innovations is location in Singleton, in the heart of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia. Polymer Innovations has been based here since its formation in 2000. Our products have been used locally in many industries such as mining, agriculture & horticulture but are supplied all over Australia & the world.
What is the Difference Between Hydro-Seeding & Hydro-Mulching?
Although both Hydro-Seeding & Hydro-Mulching are methods to revegetate areas to improve growth success, they are different. The biggest difference is the addition of a growth medium during the application process.
Is Polymer For Me?
Polymer can be used in a range of industries to help assist in a verity of issues while also reducing running costs. Our polymers have been used across the agriculture, mining, construction & horticulture industries to name a few.
Benefits of Polymer – Agriculture
Polymer has a wide range of applications in agriculture. They can assist in saving water but reducing the amount needed & wasted. Applications include but are not limited to repairing leaking dams & increasing crop growth & survival.

What Is your Soil Type?
Knowing what type of soil you have can help in many ways including choosing the right plant for your soil. The type of soil you have can help determine which plants will be best suited to the area which will help increase their survival rates.
